Bio

As Director of Design and Digital Solutions, Thom Cox is responsible for the long-term vision, development, management, and delivery of a comprehensive IT service design practice to support organizational and university priorities and objectives. He is excited to being leading an effort to make our community’s academic and professional lives simpler, more satisfying, and more productive through impactful design services and innovative architectural solutions. Prior to serving in this role, Thom held the positions Lead Web Developer for Tisch library, and Manager of Library Information Technology Services, for Tufts University.

Prior to coming to Tufts, Thom served in web and interaction design capacities for a variety of start-up and mid-sized companies including NetNames, Thomson & Thomson, and NECX. He is a Certified ScrumMaster and a member of the Project Management Institute. Thom holds a Masters in Engineering Management from the Gordon Institute of Tufts University, a Masters in Jazz Composition from New England Conservatory of Music, and Bachelor of Science in Jazz Guitar Performance from Towson State University in Maryland.

Thom has had the pleasure of presenting at HighEdWeb, NERCOMP, Internet Librarian, and NELINET. When he is not evangelizing innovation and creativity in IT with his colleagues here in TTS, Thom can be found performing jazz guitar in the Boston area and serving as a board member of Out on Film in Atlanta, GA.
