With Cisco Jabber, you can save contacts from Tufts as well as contacts from outside of the University. The pages below are guides to managing contacts in Cisco Jabber.

  1. Enter the name of the person you wish to add as a contact in the “Search or call” field.
  2. Move your mouse over the contact you want to add.
  3. Click the Add Contact button.Mac Add Contact button


  4. In the New Contact window, use the Add to Group dropdown menu to specify which group you want to add the contact to. You can also start a new group from here.Adding a new contact on a Mac


  5. Click Add.

Add a Non-Tufts Contact to a Mac

  1. In the menu bar, click Contacts.
  2. Select New Custom Contact.Mac New Custom Contact option
  3. Add information to the Create Custom Contact card.Mac Custom Contact Card


  4. Click Create.


Add a Non-Tufts Contact to a PC

  1. Click the gear icon toward the top right of the Jabber Hub window.
  2. Select File > New > Custom contact.PC New Custom Contact option
  3. Complete the Complete Custom Contact card.PC Custom Contact Card
  4. Click Create.


On a Mac, you can simply drag and drop a contact from one group to another. For both Mac and PC, you could also follow the steps below.

  1. Right-click on a contact.
  2. Select Move to Group.
  3. Select the group that you want to move them to.moving a contact to a different group
