GIS Poster Awards
Geographic information system (GIS) technology can be used for scientific discovery, resource management, and environmental planning and development. Its use is important for everything from protecting the sites of ancient burial grounds to creating better traffic flow to providing information about the ways wars are fought.
GIS is used as a tool to facilitate research and learning across multiple programs at Tufts. Every spring Tufts Technology Services hosts the annual GIS Poster Expo. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to present their work as part of a campus-wide exposition of geospatial research at Tufts. Prizes are awarded to the top student entries.
