Removing a User from a Group

  1. Open a browser and navigate to the Grouper URL.
  1. Log in to Grouper using your Tufts credentials. Grouper will open and display the Grouper New User Interface (UI). The information on the screen will include a list of the groups you manage and the folders those Groups are in. If the list is not complete, select the My Groups Quick link from the left side of the page to see a full inventory of your groups.
  1. Click on the Grouper Group that you wish to remove a member from. In the example below, we clicked on a group called FIN_AllBursar_RW. When a group is selected, Grouper will display the Members tab for it. Members are displayed in UTLN or User ID order.
  1. Find the name and UTLN for the user you wish to remove from the Group. Click on the Actions button to the right of the individual's name and select Revoke membership from the pull-down. The individual member will be deleted from the Group.

Locate revoke membership option

  1. On the Members Tab, check that the user has successfully been removed from the Grouper group, and allow 10 - 20 minutes for Group membership changes to propagate from Grouper over to Active Directory.

Verify member was removed from group

  1. The removed group member will need to log out of his/her Tufts account and log back in to see the change.
