Sharing
Overview
The OneDrive website has several options for sharing files and folders, including direct invitations and sharable links. After sharing is enabled on an item, it can be managed or unshared later if needed.
- Log in to the OneDrive website with your Tufts credentials.
- Select My files in the lefthand menu.
- Navigate to the file/folder you want to share.
- Click the Share button. A sharing window will appear.
- Add the name, group, or email you want to share with.
- Click into the dropdown menu on the right to manage the permissions you want to assign. (Note: There are different permissions available for files versus folders.)
- (Optional) Add a custom message to include in the notification these people will receive.
- Click Send.
- Log in to the OneDrive website with your Tufts credentials.
- Select My files in the lefthand menu.
- Navigate to the file/folder you want to share.
- Click the Share button. A sharing window will appear.
- Click on the Settings (gear) icon next to the Copy link button.
- Choose who you want the link to be accessible to and the permissions you want to grant.
- Click Apply.
- Click Copy link.
- Log in to the OneDrive website with your Tufts credentials.
- Select My files in the lefthand menu.
- Navigate to the file/folder you want to share.
- Click the Options button and select Manage access.
- Click on the Settings (gear) icon next to the Copy link button.
- In the window that appears, you can manage invited collaborators (people or groups) or shared links. You can also stop sharing altogether so that only you, the owner, have access.
