DuoSecurity: Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Tired of waiting for a Duo push to your phone? Tufts now supports Duo 2FA via passkey! Enjoy faster, more secure, phone-free authentication via Windows Hello, Apple Touch/Face ID, Android Biometrics, or security key. After enrolling in Duo 2FA, learn how to add a platform authenticator or security key!
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second layer of security when accessing protected systems and services, and helps protect your accounts should someone else learn your Tufts password. Tufts requires 2FA for all students, faculty, staff, and affiliates.
Once you enroll in 2FA, certain two-factor enabled web services will require you to:
- Log in with your Tufts username (e.g. jjumbo01) and password.
- Verify your identity through a second authentication step (e.g., a push notification to Duo Mobile).
