How to Manage My Settings and Devices
Accessing 2FA Settings and Device Management
- Navigate to the 2FA Service Page and click Manage.
- Log in with your Tufts username (e.g. jjumbo01) and password.
- At the two-factor authentication window, you will be asked to choose a method to verify your identity.
- The My Settings & Devices screen will open. See the sections below for more information on settings and device management options.
Change the default device you use to verify your identity. (Note: This will not be available if you only have one device set up.)
- Click the drop-down next to "Default Device."
- Select a device.

Use this if you wish to make sure that your device always uses a specific authentication method. (Note: This will disable the Remember me for 30 days option.)
- Click the drop-down next to "When I log in."
- Select one of the options available.

Changes how your device is identified in the DUO 2FA service.
- Click Device Options next to the device you want to edit.
- Click Change Device Name.
- Enter a new name into the name field.
- Click Save.
This will re-link your Tufts account to your Duo Mobile app. Be sure to use a computer separate from the device that has the app installed. (i.e. laptop or desktop computer not your smartphone)
- Click Device Options next to the device you want to manage.
- Click Reactivate Duo Mobile.
- Choose the type of phone you are managing (e.g. iPhone, Android, etc.).
- Click Continue.
- Click I have Duo Mobile installed.
- A QR code will appear on your computer screen.
- Return to your mobile device and open the Duo Mobile application.
- Tap Add in the top right corner.
- Select Use QR code.
- If your phone requests it, tap OK to allow Duo Mobile to have access to your camera. (See Email an Activation Link if you do not wish to allow access to your smartphone's camera.)
- Hold your camera up to the QR. Your phone should automatically detect the QR code.
- Name your account "Tufts University" and click Save to complete the setup process.
- Back on your computer, you should see a green checkmark over the QR code. Click Continue to exit the reactivation screen.
If a device is no longer needed, you can remove it. (Note: If you only have one device enrolled, you will not see the option to delete.)
- Click Device Options.
- Click the red trash can.
- Click Remove to confirm.
