The Data Lab, which is funded, maintained, and supported by Tufts Technology Services (TTS), consists of a computing lab, a collaborative space, and an instructional classroom. The Data Lab offers a wide range of services to the Tufts community around GIS, data and text analysis, visualization, and design, and is equipped with specialized hardware, software, data resources and reference materials. The Data Lab is staffed with Student Lab Assistants, and is open for walk-in assistance, group collaboration, workshops and classes, along with more advanced GIS and statistical consultations from senior Geospatial Technology Services staff.
Features of the Data Lab
- Lab accounts include access to all lab resources and 10 GB of personal network storage. Accounts are created for students registered for a GIS course, but regular lab users may also request full access by filling out this request form
- Resources include specialized hardware and software, GPS units, collaborative workstations, large format scanner, and printers, and reference materials.
- Semester courses, specialty classes, and workshops can reserve the Data Lab by contacting DataLab-Support@elist.tufts.edu.
