Tufts Technology Services has acquired a MATLAB software subscription that enables Tufts University students to download and install MATLAB and many popular MATLAB Toolboxes on their personal computers.

MATLAB is a tool for high-level numerical computation, visualization, and application development and can be used to analyze data, develop algorithms, and create models and applications. MATLAB consists of a base module and a wide array of toolboxes and add-on modules including Simulink, Statistics, Signal Processing, Symbolic Math and many more. Click here to view a list of Toolboxes available under Tufts’ MATLAB Campus License as of August, 2014. (This list is subject to periodic change).

Features of MATLAB include:

  • Functions for algebra, statistics, Fourier analysis, filtering, optimization, numerical integration, and solving ordinary differential equations.
  • MATLAB-based algorithms can be integrated with external applications and languages like C, Java, .NET, and Microsoft Excel.

Help with the installation, account creation and activation of MATLAB on Tufts University student personal computers is available in the MathWorks/MATLAB Quick Start Guide.
