Tufts Technology Services recently upgraded our limited network Mathematica license to a university-wide, unlimited site license. With this change, several installation options are now available to Tufts faculty and students for all supported platforms (Windows, Mac and Linux). Mathematica is the most widely used interactive system for doing mathematical computations. It handles numerical, graphic, and symbolic calculations, and it incorporates a high-level programming language that allows users to define their own procedures.
If you are interested in using Mathematica, please review the following options for download and choose the one that best fits your needs.

Standalone desktop/laptop copy for personal use obtained from the vendor website

This option is suitable for portability, as the license is accessible while you are traveling in hotels, airports, planes, etc. No use of Tufts network or VPN is required.

Installation via your Tufts local IT Support Organization

This option is suitable for computers accessing Mathematica from the Tufts network.

Please contact IT support to assist with the installation. Mathematica 9 for both the Windows XP and Windows 7 platforms is available.

Local computer labs

This option allows a group of computers to share a license without using a Tufts Network license. Please contact TTS’ Research and Geospatial Services group via email to discuss how best to proceed.
