Whether you’re conducting research, teaching at another university, traveling for business or enjoying an action-packed summer vacation, TTS has services that can help you stay connected to Tufts.
eduroam is a secure, worldwide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community that allows traveling Tufts community members to seamlessly access the internet and local network services of participating institutions. eduroam, short for education roaming, enabled locations provide per-user, per-session encrypted network access for visitors from participating institutions without the need to gain guest credentials on arrival. Access to eduroam is as simple as entering your Tufts Username (formatted as TuftsUsername@tufts.edu) and Tufts Password. Tufts' study abroad students, faculty and staff can now join thousands of eduroam hotspots without the disruption or costs associated with traditional third-party data connection.
WebEx is a popular web-conferencing tool used to conduct online meetings, classes and events. Communicate in real-time using chat, voice and HD video conferencing or collaborate by sharing your desktop and performing real-time editing on documents.
Tufts VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a service that makes secure remote access (via a website) to the Tufts network possible by using a point-to-point connection with "tunneling" protocols that keep the connection private and secure.
With the Tufts VPN, faculty, staff, and students can access Tufts network resources from any computer that has an active connection to the Internet. There are two options available: Tufts VPN web interface provides a quick and simple connection option that can be used from any computer or wireless-enabled device; VPN Network Connect, a small application available within the online Tufts VPN, can be installed on any computer to provide a more robust connection that mimics an” on-campus” network experience.
Microsoft Outlook Web App (OWA) Is part of Tufts’ Exchange environment that allows community members to connect to their email accounts via a web browser, without requiring the installation of Microsoft Outlook. Access your email, calendar and voice messages from anywhere in the world.
Qualtrics Offline Surveys is an application for iOS and Android that allows Tufts faculty, students and staff to administer surveys on mobile devices without an Internet connection. Responses can be collected in the field via mobile device, and then uploaded back into Qualtrics when an Internet connection is available. Qualtrics Offline Surveys is available for iPad, iPhone, and Android tablets and smartphones running Android 4.0 and later.
