Bio

In her role as Director of Information Security, Lorna is responsible for providing leadership and vision for information security across the university including, serving as the leading authority and advisor to senior leadership; developing strategic plans; managing a broad catalog of information security services; managing policies and procedures; leading risk assessments and security reviews; providing leadership for incident response and management; performing community outreach and education; and supervising a team of information security professionals.

Prior to coming to Tufts, she served as Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at Iron Mountain, an enterprise information management services company. She also has held senior information security leadership roles at Kohler Company and BT Infonet Services Corporation.  She brings with her rich experience in effectively leading information security initiatives in organizations with complex needs. Earlier in her career, Lorna served as a U.S. Air Force Officer, leveraging technological innovation and teamwork to provide effective weather support for 8th Air Force operations at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, Louisiana.  

Lorna holds a B.S. in Physics from Bowling Green State University and a B.S. in Meteorology from The Pennsylvania State University. She went on to receive her Master of Science in Atmospheric Science from the University of Albany, State University of New York, where she also taught classes and researched climatology.
