Are there public computer labs on campus?
Yes. Both Eaton Hall and Mugar Hall offer PC and Apple computers for student use.
Boston has computer labs and laptop loaners in the Hirsh Health Sciences Library.
What virus protection software is recommended?
We offer Trend Micro Antivirus at a discounted price to all Tufts students.
How can I print at Tufts?
Students can purchase print cards to access the printers in the computer labs and print from Tufts-owned machines; or from a personal machine by installing the print package. Due to limited space in resident hall rooms, roommates may wish to share a printer.
How do I set up my Tufts email on my phone?
Android, iOS, and Windows Mobile operating systems have a built-in application for email. Step-by-step guides are available for new students.
How can I protect my laptop from theft?
The Department of Public Safety sells laptop security devices for $25 and you can have engravers mark your laptop. Visit the Public Safety department in Dowling Hall to obtain your security tag.
I use file sharing at home to get and share music. Is this legal based on Digital Copyright law?
No. This is a violation of federal copyright law and if reported your internet connection at Tufts will be restricted. Refer to the Student Judicial Handbook for more information on this topic.
